GETTING STARTED

  • KCo. Bungalow is a boutique early care + learning experience for children from infancy through age 5, thoughtfully designed for modern families. We blend connection-based care, early education, purposeful play, and flexible scheduling within beautifully curated spaces.

  • We welcome children from 6 weeks through age 5, with experiences thoughtfully designed by developmental stage:

    • Infant

    • Toddler

    • Preschool Readiness

    • Parent + Me experiences

  • KCo. Bungalow is located in Imperial Beach / Coronado Heights, offering a beautifully curated boutique environment for local families seeking elevated early childhood care and learning.

    You can start with a Parent + Me or Play + Learn monthly class, get comfortable with the Bungalow, and explore additional care options as your family's needs grow.

    Our Virtual Meet is also a great opportunity to talk through your schedule and determine which experience may be the best place to start.

    Tell us a little about your child's age, schedule, previous care experiences, and what you're looking for. We'll help guide you toward Parent + Me, Play + Learn, Preschool Readiness, a Reserved Care Booking Tier, or KidCo. Club membership.

    You don't need to have it all figured out before reaching out.

  • Not necessarily.

    Potty-training requirements depend on your child's age and the experience they're attending. We recognize that toileting is developmental and children reach this milestone at different times.

    Please share your child's current toileting needs during enrollment so our crew can appropriately support them.

  • When age requirements, availability, and the selected experience allow, siblings may attend at the same time.

    Because our experiences are intentionally small, availability for each child is based on their individual age group and program.

  • That's okay. KidCo. Bungalow® is designed to support gradual transitions.

    Families may begin with a Parent + Me experience, visit during a Small Group Tour, or start with shorter Play + Learn experiences before moving into longer periods of care.

    We'll work with you to help your child build familiarity, trust, and confidence at their own pace.

BOOKING + SCHEDULING

  • Booking windows depend on the experience and your family's booking option.

    KidCo. Club members may receive Early Birdie priority access before remaining availability is released for general booking.

    Current booking windows and availability will be displayed through our online booking system.

  • Early Birdie Booking gives eligible KidCo. families priority access to upcoming availability.

    It is designed to give families who use the Bungalow regularly an opportunity to plan ahead before remaining spaces are opened more broadly.

  • Reserved Care Tiers are designed to provide greater consistency and priority access than individual monthly bookings.

    Each tier has its own scheduling requirements, booking windows, and available hours. Your specific tier agreement will explain how your reserved access works.

  • It depends on your tier.

    Our Flexible Booking Tiers are designed for families whose schedules may change from week to week, while our Set Booking Tier is designed around a consistent recurring schedule.

    Changes remain subject to your tier requirements, booking windows, operating hours, and availability.

  • When availability allows, families may be able to add care beyond their regularly scheduled reservation.

    Additional hours are subject to staffing, capacity, age-group availability, and applicable rates.

  • Reserved Care Tiers provide access to a designated amount of weekly care rather than functioning as a bank of individual hourly credits.

    Unused time is subject to the terms of your selected tier and generally should not be assumed to transfer to another week.

    Your tier agreement will provide the specific details.

  • Unless specifically stated in your booking agreement, unused reserved hours do not automatically roll over into future weeks.

    This allows us to maintain appropriate staffing and keep each child's place within our intentionally small care environment.

  • When space is available, families may request a different Reserved Care Tier as their schedule changes.

    Because each tier is connected to staffing and capacity, changes must be approved before taking effect.

  • Yes, when space is available.

    Same-day or last-minute reservations may be offered depending on staffing, capacity, age group, and the experience being booked.

    Advance booking is recommended for families who need care on specific days or times.

  • We understand that occasional delays happen.

    Please contact the KidCo. crew as soon as possible if you expect to be late. Additional care charges may apply for time beyond your reservation or after operating hours.

    Repeated late pickups may affect future booking privileges.

  • KidCo. Bungalow® operates throughout much of the year with scheduled holidays, seasonal breaks, staff development days, and occasional planned closures.

    Our current operating calendar will identify upcoming closure dates so families can plan ahead.

MEMBERSHIP + PAYMENTS

  • KidCo. Club is our monthly family membership designed to bring additional benefits to families who want to be part of the larger KidCo. community.

    Benefits may include Early Birdie priority booking, member access or pricing, special experiences, seasonal events, Lunch Bunch, Parent's Night Out opportunities, boutique benefits, and other KidCo. perks.

    Some events, classes, products, food, or specialty experiences may have an additional cost.

  • No.

    Eligible Parent + Me and Play + Learn monthly classes may be booked without a KidCo. Club membership.

    Membership simply gives families additional benefits and priority opportunities throughout the KidCo. village.

  • Yes.

    KidCo. Club membership and child care reservations are separate. Membership provides access to member benefits, while classes, Reserved Care Tiers, special experiences, and other services are booked according to their individual rates.

  • KidCo. Bungalow® is designed to make booking simple.

    Families can browse eligible experiences, make reservations, and complete payment through our online booking system.

  • Our online payment system accepts major credit cards.

    Any additional payment options available for a specific program or care tier will be displayed during checkout.

  • Your access or ticket opportunity to select member events may be included as a membership benefit; however, individual events, activities, food, specialty vendors, or experiences may have an additional cost.

    Pricing will always be communicated before booking.

  • Yes. Membership cancellation is subject to the terms provided when you join.

    Please review your membership agreement for notice requirements, billing dates, and when cancellation becomes effective.

CLASSES + LEARNING

  • Both Parent + Me and Play + Learn are offered through monthly class schedules.

    Each month, families can browse upcoming experiences and select the classes that work for their child's interests, developmental stage, and family schedule.

  • Yes.

    Our monthly class model gives families the flexibility to choose from available Parent + Me and Play + Learn experiences rather than committing to a traditional semester-long class schedule.

  • KidCo. Bungalow® experiences are designed to grow alongside your child. Each stage builds on the one before it while meeting children where they are developmentally.

    PARENT + ME
    Our earliest shared learning experience. A parent or grown-up stays and participates alongside their child while they explore play, movement, sensory experiences, creativity, music, early socialization, and connection.

    It’s a gentle introduction to the Bungalow and a wonderful way for little ones to become comfortable with our environment before independent drop-off experiences begin.

    TODDLER
    A playful next step toward independence.

    Toddler experiences introduce children to small-group learning through purposeful play, sensory exploration, movement, language, creativity, early routines, and social interaction.

    Our crew helps children practice separating from their grown-up, communicating needs, making choices, participating with peers, and becoming increasingly confident in a group environment.

    PRESCHOOL
    Play begins to grow into more intentional learning.

    Preschool experiences combine hands-on exploration with early literacy, math concepts, creativity, practical life skills, social-emotional learning, movement, problem-solving, and growing independence.

    Children begin practicing classroom rhythms while still having plenty of opportunity to learn through play, curiosity, and discovery.

    PRE-K
    Our most advanced early-learning experience before kindergarten.

    Pre-K builds on children's growing independence with experiences supporting early literacy and math, communication, critical thinking, problem-solving, self-regulation, collaboration, practical life skills, and kindergarten readiness.

    The goal isn't to rush children into academics—it's to help them enter their next chapter feeling capable, curious, connected, and ready to learn.

    Age helps guide placement, but we also consider each child's development, independence, experience, and readiness when helping families choose the right KidCo. experience.

  • Consider your child's age, comfort with separation, independence, interests, and previous group experiences.

    You don't have to make that decision alone. During your Virtual Meet, we can help guide you toward an appropriate starting point.

  • Age and developmental stage are considered when creating experiences and small groups.

    Depending on the activity, children may participate with peers close in age or within thoughtfully selected mixed-age groups.

  • No two KidCo. days are exactly the same.

    Depending on the experience, children may move through purposeful play, creative experiences, early learning, sensory exploration, outdoor time, movement, practical life experiences, meals or snacks, social connection, and periods of rest or quiet time.

    Our environment provides rhythm and predictability without removing children's opportunity to explore.

  • For children attending longer care periods, developmentally appropriate rest or quiet time may be incorporated into their day.

    We'll collect information about your child's typical sleep routine during enrollment and work to support their individual needs within our group-care environment.

  • Meal arrangements depend on your child's age, length of stay, and selected care experience.

    Families will receive specific instructions regarding meals, bottles, feeding supplies, and available KidCo. food options before attendance.

  • We make every reasonable effort to understand and support children's established routines, particularly for infants and younger children.

    Because KidCo. is a small-group care environment rather than one-on-one nanny care, routines may occasionally need to adapt to the rhythm of the group.

    Communication between families and our crew helps us create as much consistency as possible between home and the Bungalow.

  • Our first response is connection.

    A KidCo. crew member will stay close, offer comfort, help your child regulate, and gently invite them into familiar or engaging activities.

    If your child remains significantly distressed or we believe continuing the experience isn't in their best interest that day, we'll contact you and determine the best next step together.

  • KidCo. Connected™ is our way of helping parents remain connected to their child's experience while they're apart.

    Depending on your child's program and length of stay, updates may include information about meals and bottles, sleep, activities, milestones, photos, and daily notes.

  • For applicable stays, yes.

    KidCo. Connected™ allows our crew to share important parts of your child's day so you can feel informed without needing to wonder what's happening.

  • Photos may be shared during eligible experiences when appropriate and when required family permissions are on file.

    Our first priority is always caring for and engaging with the children, so the frequency of photos may vary from day to day.

  • When available through KidCo. Connected™, families may use direct messaging for appropriate communication regarding their child's care.

    For urgent matters or changes to pickup, families should follow the communication procedures provided during enrollment.

  • Tears during separation can be a normal part of adjusting to a new environment.

    We use calm, confident transitions and help children connect with a familiar caregiver, activity, or part of the environment.

    We'll communicate with you if your child is having significant difficulty settling.

  • For Parent + Me experiences, grown-ups stay and participate.

    Drop-off experiences are designed for children to participate independently. Depending on the situation, our crew will help determine the transition approach that best supports your child without unintentionally making separation more difficult.

    Parents may also have the option to remain nearby in the Courtyard Club when available.

  • Absolutely.

    For children new to separation, starting with a Parent + Me class or shorter Play + Learn experience can be a wonderful way to build familiarity before moving into longer care periods.

  • That's okay.

    Readiness looks different for every child. We may recommend additional Parent + Me experiences, shorter visits, or simply giving your child more time before trying drop-off again.

    Our goal isn't to force independence. It's to create the conditions where independence can gradually grow.

  • We view behavior as communication and use developmentally appropriate, relationship-based guidance.

    Through the Bloo Birdie Method™, children are supported in building emotional regulation, communication, problem-solving, independence, empathy, and confidence.

    We use clear boundaries, redirection, modeling, connection, and age-appropriate choices rather than expecting young children to manage emotions or conflicts beyond their developmental abilities.

  • To protect our small-group environment, children who are experiencing symptoms that meet our exclusion criteria will need to remain home.

    Families receive our complete health and illness policy during enrollment, including guidance on when children may return.

    What happens if my child becomes sick while at KidCo.?

    We'll contact you if your child becomes ill or develops symptoms requiring them to leave care.

    Your child will be kept comfortable and supervised while we wait for an authorized adult to arrive.

  • Minor childhood bumps and scrapes are handled according to our health and safety procedures, and families are informed as appropriate.

    For injuries requiring additional medical attention, we follow our emergency procedures and contact parents or emergency services as appropriate.

  • Staff responsible for child care complete required health and safety training appropriate to their roles, including applicable pediatric First Aid and CPR requirements.

  • KidCo. Bungalow® maintains emergency procedures for situations such as fire, earthquake, severe weather, evacuation, shelter-in-place, and other emergencies.

    Our priority is to keep children safe, accounted for, supervised, and cared for until they can be safely reunited with their authorized grown-up.

    Families receive additional emergency information as part of enrollment.

  • Families disclose known allergies and dietary restrictions during enrollment.

    Depending on the allergy, we may require additional documentation, instructions, emergency medication, or an individualized care plan before your child attends.

    Please discuss significant allergies with us during your Virtual Meet.

  • Diapering and toileting are handled respectfully, hygienically, and in accordance with the child's developmental stage and our health and safety procedures.

    We partner with families during toilet learning so children receive as much consistency as possible between home and the Bungalow.

  • Only parents, guardians, and individuals who have been properly authorized according to KidCo. Bungalow® pickup procedures may take a child from care.

    Identification may be required before a child is released to an authorized individual.

    Safety always comes before convenience.
